General Yoga Questions
What is yoga?
Yoga is a holistic practice that combines physical postures (asanas), breath control (pranayama), and meditation to promote physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. It helps improve flexibility, strength, and balance while fostering mindfulness and inner peace.
What are the benefits of practicing yoga?
Practicing yoga regularly can lead to increased flexibility, strength, and endurance. It also promotes mental clarity, reduces stress, enhances relaxation, and supports emotional balance. Additionally, yoga can improve posture, boost immunity, and help you connect with your inner self.
Do I need to be flexible to do yoga?
No, you don’t need to be flexible to start yoga. Yoga is for every able bodied person, regardless of your current flexibility or fitness level. The practice is about meeting yourself where you are and gradually improving over time.
I haven’t exersieced in years, will I be able to do yoga?
Absolutely! My classes are designed to be welcoming and accessible to everyone, regardless of your current fitness level or how long it’s been since you last exercised. Yoga is about listening to your body and moving at your own pace. I provide modifications and gentle options for all poses, so you can ease into the practice in a way that feels comfortable and supportive for you. Whether you’re just starting out or getting back into exercise, you’ll find a space where you can reconnect with your body without pressure or judgment.
What should I wear to a yoga class?
Wear comfortable, breathable clothing that allows for a full range of motion. Yoga pants, leggings, or shorts and a tshirt work well. Avoid denim or clothing that is difficult to move in.
What should I bring to a yoga class?
Bring a yoga mat, a water bottle, and a towel if you tend to sweat.
If you don’t have a mat, there are a limited number available to rent.
If you have a block and strap you are welcome to bring them.
You are also welcome to bring a small blanket for extra comfort during the meditation.
